Your habits belong to you. BauBau works without an account, advertising or tracking.

Data used on your device

BauBau stores your habits, schedules, reminders, check-ins, notes, progress and settings locally. We do not operate a server that receives this information. The app has no advertising or analytics SDK. The app and its widget share a local database on your device; separate installations do not synchronize BauBau data.

Optional Apple Health access

You choose whether to link a habit to Apple Health. Depending on the rule you select, BauBau requests permission to read relevant steps, walking/running distance, workouts, mindfulness, sleep or water intake. Access is read-only. BauBau never adds, changes or deletes the original Apple Health records.

BauBau processes readings on your device to calculate the progress of the habits you connect. It retains minimal daily progress summaries, connection settings and source provenance, not copies of raw samples, routes or sleep stages. Health data is not used for advertising, profiling or sale and is not sent to the publisher or an analytics service.

Backups and retention

The database containing habits and Health-derived progress is excluded from automatic device backups. There is no BauBau cloud backup or cross-device sync. Local records remain until you delete them; disconnecting a Health link lets you choose whether to keep or remove its derived progress.

Deleting the app or losing your device can remove your history. You can export a readable JSON copy, but BauBau does not currently provide an import or restore feature. This policy describes the App Store release; earlier beta builds may have different backup behavior.

Exporting your data

Settings → Export Data (JSON) produces a copy of BauBau records, including Health connection settings, derived progress and provenance, but not raw Health samples. You choose the destination in the system share sheet. An export may contain sensitive information. Any service you choose to share it with handles that copy under its own privacy terms. The publisher does not receive exports unless you explicitly send one.

Deleting data and withdrawing access

Delete individual habits or choose Settings → Local Data → Delete All Data and confirm to remove all habits and associated progress from this installation. Original Apple Health and source-app data remain unchanged. A local deletion does not revoke system permission. You can disconnect links in Settings → Health Connections and manage read access in Apple Health → Profile → Apps → BauBau Habits. The exact system labels can vary with iOS.

Support and this website

If you email ioanasbogdan@gmail.com, the publisher receives your email address and the information you choose to send. Messages are handled through Gmail to answer your request and retained only as needed for support and applicable obligations. Avoid sending raw Health records or unnecessary sensitive information. You can request deletion of support messages at the same address.

This website is hosted through Sites. The hosting infrastructure may process technical request information such as IP address and browser details to deliver and protect the site. We have not added advertising or analytics scripts. Visiting this website does not give the publisher access to your local BauBau or Apple Health database.
